People who contribute pictures to gallery may, if they choose, also declare that they choose to let others use their contribution under particular terms. We currently only use licences from the Creative Commons project, but if there are others you would like to see here, just get in touch and explain why.
If you are asserting a licence on something you have uploaded, please make sure it is either yours to declare about or that it has this licence already (for example if the original author had tagged it with this licence and you are just keeping that on there).
