On October 31st 1995 Ian Botham, World renowned cricketer, pioneered a new 100k race - possibly the most difficult 100k race in the World.

Twelve local runners proved that a run from Pokhara in the west of Nepal, to Poon Hill and back was possible in less than 12 hours. The route normally would take an average trekker 5 days. The winner took 11 hours 55 minutes and 55 seconds.

After four years this event has been opened up to the public and held for the first time on April 7th. The event was organised to raise awareness of Nepalese runners and to fund the provision of running coaches to enhance their natural talent and tenacity.

We would like our runners to be invited to other races that could support them.
